Why Do People Fail to Find the Balance?
Everybody whines about the workload in the office and the less family time at home. What to do?
Are Work and Personal Lives Related?
A balance between the office and home is indeed necessary to find peace and happiness. People generally perceive that work and personal lives are intertwined, but that’s not true. Rather, it is the perception of those people who are not mindful about their life in general.
Mindfulness and the Balance
What does Mindfulness Mean Here?
Mindfulness means examining and singling out goals and priorities. It involves seeing the sky as blue and agreeing and compromising to it among all the other realities, while also making the world agree with you and give you what you want.
Mindfulness in the Career and Work-Life
Working extra hours, just to earn a few extra dollars undermines the balance we all require because only making money is not the aim of any dream job.
If it is, it becomes the biggest hurdle in living a balanced happy life.
Setting goals is mindfulness. ‘I have to develop this skill in one month, I have to earn this sum in a year, I have to go on vacation with my family in the coming holidays, etc.’ We all need to say these mindfully goal-oriented sentences to ourselves.
Mindfulness is the name of identifying abilities and being aware of and unlocking one’s true potential. When a person has clarity on his goals, he works in that direction and thus effectively divides time and effort for the activities he wants to do. Mindfulness helps people to find satisfaction in what they achieve and what they do.
Mindfulness for the Family
Mindfulness helps a person better understand the people around him. We could not only make our work-life successful by being mindful and aware of what our coworkers and organizational hierarchy want from us but also make relationships work in the right direction.
By not being oblivious of how our children, parents, and spouses feel, we could nurture strong and mutually beneficial relationships based on understanding, empathy, and true love.
Mindfulness tells us What we Want
It is true that the work-personal life balance is quite subjective. Each person has different aspirations and perceptions of achievement, but mindfulness helps everyone identify what they want and then draw out the map of how they would achieve it.
By constructing the mindful lens, the fog of doubt disappears, and destinations seem to be clearer and clearer and so does the path towards them.
